Senior Manager, Professional Services

Purpose of the position

Navis is seeking a Senior Manager - Professional Services for the Asia Pacific region who will play a crucial role in growing our services business in APAC. This role will have a sales, delivery, and people responsibility. The successful candidate will be an energetic, hands-on leader with proven experience in building and leading high-performing consulting services teams in the rollout of complex software implementations. As a leader within the PS APAC team, you will be expected to play an active role in people development, sales, and roll-out of new services.  You must be willing to travel through the region with occasional trips to the US.

Responsiblitites

•    Hiring, retaining and motivating professional services group in order to further grow a high performing team.  Managing a technical team.
•    Selling high quality services deals that will lead to customer satisfaction / success.
•    Developing and maintaining strong relationships with senior operations and IT personnel of customers and partners in the shipping supply chain industry.
•    Managing a portfolio of software implementation and upgrade projects on schedule, within budget and with high customer satisfaction.
•    Refining and developing methodologies, tools and programs around implementations, upgrades and other services.
•    Assisting in managing the Professional Services KPI’s including Services Revenue, Services Sales, Staff Utilization and Profit Margin, being accountable for the delivery of ‘Additional Services’ budget numbers.
•    Assisting in developing and implementing strategies and actions that lead to growth of the Professional Services team in APAC.
•    Refining, developing and monitoring metrics to assess the performance of the Professional Services project teams as well as individuals.
•    Maintaining a Professional Services automation tool to efficiently manage the business.
•    Creating high quality Project quotations and supporting the License Sales team in the sales process
•    Support and deliver to clients ‘Pre Sale’ proposals / demonstration and explanation on Navis Products  
•    Partnering with Engineering and Product Management on Professional Services involvement in testing and beta programs.
•    Partnering with Human Resources to understand and comply with employment standards and cultural norms in various countries.
•    Taking ownership for data and analytics from a product standpoint. 
•    Drive product management for scalable applications including large-scale data ingestion and partner integrations. 
•    Manage internal and customer facing relationships to drive adoption, requirements, marketing, and support 
•    Work closely with data engineers on agile planning, backlog grooming, story execution, testing, and deployments 
•    Interface with sales and field technical leads to be an evangelist for data and analytics technologies. 
•    Actively participate in the downstream implementation process within container terminals in order to understand priorities for solution improvement and to manage customer expectations and drive for customer success. This may involve participation in workshops, triage meetings, and customer site visits where appropriate to ensure the commercial success of the product line. 

Required Experience & Skills

•    Proven ability to build and lead high performing teams;
•    Proven ability to manage Professional Services organizations in the enterprise software industry;
•    5+ years in successfully managing highly complex custom software development projects;
•    Experience in managing organizations that implement and upgrade enterprise applications is required;
•    Knowledge of port and / or container terminal information technology
•    Proven ability in SaaS – Cloud based solutions  
•    Direct experience in BI – concepts and data analytics (data visualization, dashboard design, analytics apps) and with cloud environments (SaaS, public cloud apps etc) is highly desired. 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills  
•    Ability to travel up to 50%
•    Master degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related
•    Excellent leadership and management skills
•    Self-starter, energetic, multi-tasker, team player
•    Ability to rapidly establish rapport and develop effective business relationships
•    Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
•    Flexibility in working outside office hours as a result of being part of a global company
