Managing Consultant

Purpose of the position


The Navis  Managing Consultant performs system implementation tasks for implementation consulting projects. Determines business and technology requirements in terms of operational processes and technology. Works as part of a team providing technical solutions for the implementation of Navis Products

What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Degree in Maritime Business, MIS, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Experience with Navis automation project or similar ports automation projects such as RTG automationExperience in container terminal operation
  • Extensive knowledge of relational database structures
  • Strong experience with the third party system integration
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, team leader experience is advantage
  • Detail oriented, and self-motivated
  • Willing to travel up to 80%
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Mandarin
  • Able to work extended hours under tight deadlines
  • Able to multi-task and successfully meet objectives
You will be part of:
  • Line Management of the Implementation Consultants in the allocated region.
  • Positive ongoing mentoring of Implementation Consultants to ensure they are operating at the highest level they can
  • A key part of the knowledge creation and sharing process among Master Terminal Staff as part of the virtual global team
  • Providing governance over the solution as defined during planning and analysis and then ensuring the delivery of a workable effective solution at Go Live. Ensuring that Super User training is delivered effectively.
  • Providing governance over the implementation consultants activities within the Master Terminal Implementation
  • Contribute to the Product Roadmap team discussions, reviewing and evaluating proposals, bringing ideas from implementations into the roadmap team for consideration
  • Assist in the design, creation and review of documentation that that Implementation Consultants use during the implementation
  • Travel throughout their region as part of their normal implementation Management responsibilities to see staff and clients.
  • This role will require hands on work in a client facing day to day role, unless there is a circumstance requiring their specialist knowledge to be chargeable or there is a problem with the quality of the delivery that needs correcting.
  • Maintaining the utilisation rates of Implementation Consultants at the required level
  • Ensure that time recording and invoicing of the teams activities are completed accurately and on time
  • Quality of the consultancy delivered, client satisfaction and optimal solution delivery
  • The capability and knowledge of the Implementation Consultants
  • Fulfil key strategic responsibilities within agreed timelines, budgets and delegated authority.
