Senior Manager, Professional Services

Position Summary

 

Senior Manager Professional Services for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region who will play a crucial role in growing our services business in the Mediterranean region. This role will have a sales, delivery and people responsibility. The successful candidate will be an energetic, hands-on leader with proven experience in building and leading high performing consulting services teams in the rollout of complex software implementations. As a leader within the EMEA Professional Services team, you will play an active role in development, sales and rollout of new services. To be selected you must be able to clearly articulate what differentiates you from your peers and why this leads to exceptional results. You must be willing to travel frequently throughout the region with occasional trips to the US.

Responsibilities

  • Managing approximately 8-12 Professional Services staff members.

  • Hiring, retaining and motivating the best and brightest employees continuously improving a high performing consulting team.

  • Selling and delivering high quality services deals that will lead to customer satisfaction / success.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with senior operations and IT personnel of customers and partners in the shipping supply chain industry.

  • Managing a portfolio of software implementation and upgrade projects on schedule, within budget and with high customer satisfaction.

  • Refining and developing methodologies, tools and programs around implementations, upgrades and other services.

  • Assisting in managing the Professional Services KPI’s including Services Revenue, Services Sales, Staff Utilization and Contribution Margin.

  • Assisting in developing and implementing strategies and actions that lead to growth of the Professional Services team in EMEA.

  • Refining, developing and monitoring metrics to assess the performance of the Professional Services project teams as well as individuals.

  • Maintaining a Professional Services automation tool to efficiently manage the business.

  • Creating high quality Project quotations and supporting the License Sales team in the sales process

  • Collaborating with Navis Engineering and Product Management on Professional Services involvement in testing and early adopter programs.

  • Collaborating with People Success department to understand and comply with employment standards and cultural norms in various countries. 

 

Travel: Approximately 50%.

Location: Position based in the Valencia, Spain

Education: Master degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related

Requirements

  • Proven ability to build and lead high performing teams;

  • Proven ability to manage Professional Services organizations in the enterprise software industry;

  • 5+ years in successfully managing highly complex custom software development projects;

  • Knowledge of port and / or container terminal information technology; 

  • Excellent leadership and management skills; 

  • Self-starter, energetic, multi-tasker, team player;

  • Ability to rapidly establish rapport and develop effective business relationships;

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines;

  • Flexibility in working outside office hours as a result of being part of a global company;

  • Excellent project/time management skills;

  • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills; 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills;

  • Second language – must be fluent in English plus one other language
