Assistant Controller

Position Summary


The Assistant Controller manages all aspects of the accounting function including consolidations, GAAP reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, local tax reporting, maintenance of internal control document, accounts payable, and expense reporting.  The Assistant Controller will also manage and mentor two senior accountants.


  • Manage accounting month-end close activities including:
    • Preparation, coordination, and review of journal entries
    • Consolidation of various entities
    • Assist in preparing financial statements under US GAAP
    • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Perform analysis to interpret data and answer questions from management
    • Suggest/implement process improvements related to the Accounting function
    • Assist in the ongoing monitoring and enhancement of financial and operational controls
    • Support the integration of processes and policies across Navis
  • Manage accounts payable.
  • Consolidate financial statements from other entities.
  • Research technical pronouncements
  • Participate in annual external audits.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance and accounting projects as required.


  • BS in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; CPA a plus.
  • 8+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years experience managing a small team.  
  • Combination of high tech industry plus Public accounting experience a plus. Direct from Big 4 accounting firm will be considered.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP.  
  • Experience with any major SAAS ERP experience.  Other systems: Netsuite, Financial Force, Adaptive Insight, Salesforce
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex. 
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Very Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.  
  • Solid computer skills including experience using Excel, Word, Outlook, and Accounting software packages. 
  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints.
  • Ability to network and collaborate cross-functionally.
