Business Analyst

Purpose of the position

The purpose of the Business Analyst role at Navis is to understand our customers’ business processes and be able to accurately establish their needs, ensuring our products continue to provide them the best level of service in the industry as their business grows.

 

The Business Analyst is the customer representative for their projects and provide a point of contact to the development team for existing Navis customers. They form strong, on-going, relationships with our customers and can understand their problems and desired outcomes and communicate these to the Development Team.

 

The role is based in New Zealand but incumbents may be required to travel if projects demand. The person in this position will at all times act to support the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values.

What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Previous experience consulting in an IT environment with external customers - beneficial
  • Previous experience in the logistics or supply chain industry – beneficial
  • Business Analyst experience in a Business to Business environment – beneficial
  • Business Analyst experience in a Product Development environment - beneficial
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile practices - beneficial
  • Literate in the Microsoft office suite and Visio
  •  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to elicit, analyze, validate and document customer requirements to support quality product development.
  • Ability to understand business processes, identify potential problems, and listen, question and review to gather required information.
  • High level of organisation and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with global customers and various teams within Navis including Professional Services consultants and Development Teams
You will be part of:

Business Analysis

Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine customer business requirements, problems, and opportunities relative to their use of our products.

Uses required modeling and analysis tools, methods, documentation and standards.

Collaborates with Solution Architects and Developers to identify functional solutions and accurately communicate these to Customers.

Requirements Definition and Management

Manages requests for customer specific product features

Researches, analyses and documents detailed requirements considering the nature of the required changes, established practices and the characteristics and culture of those requesting modifications.

Obtains formal agreement from stakeholders on scope and requirements and establishes a baseline on which delivery of a solution can commence.

Stakeholder Relationship Management

Autonomously develops and maintains defined communications channels between the Support team, Professional Services team, development team and the customer, and as appropriate acts as a single point of contact.

Gathers information from customers to understand their needs and detailed requirements.

Accountabilities

Fulfilling key strategic responsibilities as above.

Accurately capturing customer requirements for product modifications needed to support customer operations.

Delivering complete, quality documentation specifying requirements to clearly define scope of development
