Position Summary

Navis is seeking a top notch Systems Administrator. You will work from our Navis Chennai, India office and report into the Manager, IT R&D Infrastructure Operations. This position is a hands-on function with responsibility to own and solve simple to complex questions about technologies that are the key to the success of the Navis business.  Through global team participation working within IT and across the Navis business community, success will be measured by both application availability and future solutions delivery

Responsibilities

 

We’re looking for a talented Systems Administrator who has the experience necessary to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Servers, Storage, and Networks that support the core organizational functions.  We’re a growing company with a team of highly dedicated IT professionals who give their all to help our enterprise flourish. The ideal candidate for this position can prioritize mission critical tasks and coordinate the construction and expansion of our systems so updates and other maintenance tasks don’t get in the way of daily operations.  This role will automate as many of our processes as possible to reduce the potential for human error, perform research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of systems to meet current and future user requirements.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field required. Completed these certifications: MCSE, VMware VCP or AWS

  • Persistent and dependable, especially in achieving project deadlines

  • Excellent research and documentation skills specific to step by step procedures, troubleshooting and knowledge base creation

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Passion for new technologies and self-initiated drive to provide all staff with an excellent customer service experience

Requirements

  • 6 years of IT operation and solution data centre delivery experience.

  • Specific applicable experience with Cisco network devices including Nexus 5K, Nexus 9K, Fabric Interconnect, 3850, 2900 and 2750.

  • Knowledge of MPLS, SD-WAN, Fortinet firewalls and VPN connectivity.

  • Knowledge of various storage devices including EMC VNX5400, VNX5600, Unity and Pure

  • Strong hands-on skills in a datacenter environment working with power, rack space and AC configuration.

  • Strong solution delivery mindset and skills with experience and understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into functional business requirements, application and operational requirements.

  • Experience with a wide range of IT technologies and methodologies for infrastructure, service desk, networks, project management, financial analysis, vendor management, and global operations.

  • Understands complex strategic concepts and relationships by analyzing problems from different points of view. Applies broad knowledge and experience to address critical issues.

  • Experience working within an IT team executing processes for project management, collaboration, and trouble ticket management solutions.

  • Takes initiative to proactively handle multiple demands by demonstrating flexibility for optimum customer satisfaction.

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills

  • Deep understanding and experience working with a range of modern IT technologies such as: Windows, VMware, Linux, networking, relational databases, data security, telephony, email/messaging and Google applications.
