Position Summary

We’re looking for forward-thinking Senior Security Operations (SecOps) Engineers to execute on our key strategic initiative of ushering the maritime industry in the modern computing era

What you’ll need to succeed:

Technical Qualifications

  • A deep understanding  of common web application security vulnerabilities and experience addressing/mitigating/resolving these vulnerabilities. 

  • Strong knowledge of web, mobile, and/or desktop application security vulnerabilities and countermeasures, including the OWASP Top 10

  • Experience in cloud security. Microsoft Azure or AWS experience will be highly desirable

  • Development experience sufficient to automate repetitive tasks and scale your impact.

  • Knowledge of common information security and service management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL/ITSM, COBIT/ISACA, Cloud Security Alliance as well as those from NIST, including 800-53 and Cybersecurity Control Framework will be a real advantage

  • Experience securing networks and infrastructure through firewall design, network segmentation and access (VPNs etc.)

  • Knowledge of the latest trends and awareness of current hacking techniques and cybercrime.  Up-to-date knowledge of information security risk management and cybersecurity technologies, methodologies, and trends in both business and IT.

 

Educational background 

  • ·BA/BS degree with a minimum of seven to ten  years of experience in a combination of information security and IT

  • ·Professional security certifications are desirable, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or other similar security related certifications

Responsibilities

  • Plays a key role in the development and maintenance of the security strategy, policies, and procedure, primarily  from an Operations perspective.

  • Assesses and understands Navis’ current security framework and future architecture, providing recommendations for risk reduction.

  •  Designs and evangelizes automated security capabilities.

  • Analyzes business impact and exposure, based on emerging security threats and risks.

  • Monitors and tests cloud infrastructure and systems to identify vulnerabilities.

  • Executes and  manages mitigation remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

  • Responds to security incidents and performs root cause analysis.

  • Communicates security risks (distilling complex security threats and risks into simple terms for non-security and even non-technical)  to stakeholders.
