Position Summary

The Navis Managed Services EDI Engineer  is responsible for providing consulting, troubleshooting, and configuration assistance to Navis Customers around EDI in the Navis TOS product.This role will provide monitoring and diagnostics of the customer’s EDI configuration, setup, testing, and implementation of new EDI messages, maps, and communication streams with EDI trading partners, and real time resolution of EDI errors found during the loading of posting of EDI messages in Navis software.


  • Monitoring and diagnostics of Navis software EDI

  • Configuration and deployment of new EDI messages for customers

  • Research and resolution of Navis TOS EDI errors in real time on behalf of customers

  • Troubleshooting of customer-reported EDI issues


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

  • 5+ years experience managing EDI for an Enterprise Software Company or related field

  • Deep familiarity with maritime EDI message management (i.e. BAPLIE, COPARN, COPRAR, 315, etc.)

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong customer service orientation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in the maritime or logistics industry is a significant plus

  • Experience in Navis TOS a big plus

  • Experience working in distributed virtual teams

  • Demonstrate great attitude and work ethic

  • Professional image, personality and demeanor

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Meticulous organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent customer service and follow-up skills

  • Good listening skills
