Account Manager

Purpose of the position

Navis is seeking a commercially savvy Account Manager for the Asia region to develop and manage client relationships as well as to expand Navis’ commercial relationship with these accounts. The Account Manager should have a proven track record of quickly earning the trust of customer and key stakeholders, mobilizing and motivating teams, resolving conflict, delivering tough messages with grace, executing with limited information, and influencing all parties to achieve desired outcomes.  This is a sales and revenue generating position focused on the existing client base.  Navis has a strong and diverse customer base in the Asia region that includes small and large accounts running a variety of Navis products.  As Navis continues to grow and the demands of the industry evolve, the Asia region has a strong commercial upside. 


This position will require a highly engaged sales-oriented account resource that will be a key player on the APAC team.  The Account Manager will need to work closely other departments to manage the region and objectives effectively.  A mentality of owning the region and owning the results will be critical to be successful in this role.


  • Drive additional business opportunities with existing account base by identifying and qualifying clients’ business needs and operational/technical pain points
  • Maintain and enhance existing customer relationships including client issues which may require direct resolution in some cases but will also involve delegation to and communication with other departments
  • Engage colleagues and partners on complex sales opportunities to ensure the an appropriate and high value solution is offered to the customers
  • Manage customer lifecycle satisfaction through growth, upgrades and evolving changes in operations practice and technology environments
  • Organize and develop account activity reports and metrics using SFDC
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations targeted to specific needs and messaging objectives
  • Advocate for process and programs that improve account engagement using data and reports to substantiate such recommendations and follow up internally to complete customer initiatives focused on building the Navis business and brand
  • Build expertise on the Navis product portfolio and on the business particulars of your assigned market and region


  • 5-7+ years of sales and/or account management in the maritime industry, container supply chain, marine terminals, industrial transportation industries, or other commercial experience with mission-critical enterprise software solutions.
  • Terminal Operating System (TOS) solution selling experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience navigating, launching and successfully completing large, complex projects and sales cycles
  • Experienced in Salesforce.com or other customer relationship management solutions
  • Excellent customer success, organization, and communication skills required
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships based on trust
  • Ability to create, analyze, and present customer account and usage reports
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and responding to customer inquiries in an timely and professional manner
  • Driven puzzle solver, identifying and resolving issues and escalations by providing alternative solutions
  • Willing to travel 60% plus
