Account Representative

Purpose of the position

  • Promote and sell the organization's products with main focus on spare parts, services and projects.
  • This position is the front line of the respective customer contacts assigned to him/ her.
  • Performs timely activities associated with the customers’ orders and quotations as well as maintains good relations with stakeholders.
  • The position also is responsible for any other tasks assigned by management in the best interest of the company

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Pursue  sales  leads,  visiting  existing/  new  customers  regularly  to  meet  sales  target  levels,  build  positive relationships, collect market information and customer feedback.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery times and other related details within limits of authority and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Assess customer needs and promote appropriate products, services and service agreements.
  • Refersales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
  • Develop and implement sales tactics and Hoshin Kanri X matrix action plans with line manager’s approval.
  • Meet or exceed sales & orders budgets.
  • Update sales activities including but not limited to quotation status, order status, customer visit report, dry dock info & sales leads in CRM (Customer relationship management) tools.
  • Build excellent customer relationship management and develop thorough knowledge of all relevant stakeholders at our customer’s organizations, commercial and technical, who impact their business activities and decisions in regards to MacGregor.
  • Actively follow-up all quotations and orders status.
  • Actively investigate and report back on customers product Installed Base (IB) and dry dock information.
  • Actively pursue collection of account receivables with support of local controller
  • Accept, execute and deliver other cross functional projects as assigned by management for the benefit of the company.
  • Verifying the completeness of customer’s purchase orders with related quotations
  • Checking, fulfilling and following up sales order confirmations.
  • Processing local sales orders according to their priorities.
  • Handling nonconformities and claims.
  • Creating and handling of notifications.
  • Handling of delivery process and documentation. 
  • Quotation creation/handling when needed.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marine or business.

Experience

  • 3-5 years in sales experience in Marine, Offshore or other relevant field

Competencies

  • Fluent English –written and oral
  • Google Workspace
  • Work Independently
  • Responsibility for conforming to the Company Code of Conduct,  DOA (delegation of authority), QEHS Policies of MacGregor as well as requirements of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS1800
