Collections & US RTR Tax Specialist

The mission of this role is to manage both collections Credit Management, Order Release, Customer Block and Credit Review and US RTR Tax reconciliation and filing.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Adherence to the 3rd party Credit Rating Provider. Credit decisions include:

  • Setting and reviewing customer credit limits
  • Whether credit is approved for a given customer
  • The amount of credit provided
  • Whether a blocked order should be released or kept on block until credit criteria are met (e.g. payment of old overdues).
  • Whether a customer should be put on total level block.

 

Research and correct unallocated payments

  • Process payment returns
  • Correspond with customers for unallocated payments with no remittance

 

Resolve Disputes

  • Provide updates in the system

 

Apply payments

  • Correspond with customers for unallocated payments
  • Correspond with customers regarding  overdue accounts via phone and email

 

Mange overdue management report and meetings

  • Establish a regular dispute review meeting and a clear escalation process
  • Use the Dispute Processing Deadlines to improve the dispute resolution timelines

 

US RTR Tax Specialist:

 

Indirect Tax reconciliation and filing (includes but not limited to) – 30 hours per month

  • Vertex SAP reconciliation (Month End)
  • Indirect Tax Returns
  • Business License

 

Tax Notices Sales and Use Tax exemptions – 10 hours a month

Fixed Asset Management (includes but not limited to) – 65 hours a month

 

  • Additions/Disposals
  • Depreciation
  • Personal Property Tax Mgmt./Payments
  • Reconciliation of Sage to SAP

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelors Degree in related field (finance, collections, tax)
  • Tax experience specifically fixed assets and Sales and Use tax. Some accounting/ and or collections experience a major plus
  • Computer skills: MS office basics, G-suite and ERP system (SAP & SalesForce) knowledge is an asset
  • Customer-focused approach
  • Problem solving skills
  • Organized, efficient with strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated and accurate
  • Highly effective and clear communicator with active listening skills.
