Senior Manager, Supply Chain - Deck Handling Equipment

Purpose of the position

  • Lead and drive supply chain- sourcing-, production- and shipment- strategy, implementation and operations to meet Deck Handling Solutions (DHS) Product Line strategy and customer needs
  • As a member of the Deck Handling Solutions (DHS) Management team, actively participates in the success of the product line’s profitability and growth.
  • With its own local and shared global MacGregor Sourcing resources and with a preferred supplier base, actively drive and support improvements on operational performance and strategic changes of technology, supplier base etc defined by Offshore Solutions Division & MacGregor.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Full management responsibility of Sourcing, PO Handling, Logistics, Lean/Platform Implementation for DHS product line
  • Implement and achieve sourcing & supply chain strategic, operational and financial goals as defined by Sourcing & Supply Chain Director & DHS product line
    • Lead and develop platform, co-operation and frame agreements with suppliers
    • Monitor deliveries meeting budget, schedule and in compliance with MCG quality standards. 
    • Develop capabilities and competencies of suppliers and partners accordingly
  • Cooperation with Sales. Design, R&D and QA to continuously improve quality and cost of components and production processes with partners
  • Ensure optimal and continuous coordination with MCG Sourcing and Sourcing & Supply Chain teams in Offshore Solutions Division (OSD)
  • Lead sourcing & supply chain team, drive employee competency & capability development
  • Represent the department in DHS management meetings

What you’ll need to succeed

Education

  • M. Sc or B.Sc. in Engineering, Production technology, Logistics or similar adequate degree.
  • Long proven track record with good achievements may compensate for lack of some formal education.

Experience

  • Third level degree and/or Master’s degree in a relevant business discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant Industrial experience (truck, construction machines, agriculture or automotive.), preferably experienced in project-based business lines.
  • At least 5-7 years within a Supply Chain role, 3 to 5 years of which should be at Management level, within a multinational, multi-site, global company. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to develop and sustain a trusting relationship with our preferred supplier base. Proven responsibility for key supplier relations and negotiations. 
  • Strong people management skills and experience, to achieve full alignment of each individual team member’s performance with the business strategy and goals.
  • Cross functional experience between Engineering and operations.
  • Ability to travel globally, sometimes at short notice
