Sales Manager

Purpose of the position

Plan, develop, direct, execute and monitor sales activities within a specified geography, product line, or market segment to achieve established sales targets. Responsible for Sales within given customers. Responsible together with Sales & Marketing Director to support MacGregor Sales Strategy. Support customers, Ship owners and design consultants marketing MacGregor solutions

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key tasks:

  • Responsible for assigned customers by actively maintaining existing customer relations with shipyards, ship owners and design consultants and actively establish new ones.
  • Sell MacGregor portfolio products to customers
  • File customer enquiries in SAP/Sales Force Sales Tool database and evaluate the enquiries
  • Plan, lead each tender and assure that the customers get response according to their needs.
  • Responsible together with  Sales Engineer for the correct technical solution and that the correct cost and scope of supply are chosen for each specific tender.
  • Responsible together with the Director Sales and Marketing that the quoted prices are correct and in accordance with the Sales Budget or strategic goals.
  • All necessary correspondence/communications to customer regarding commercial issues
  • Responsible of preparation of quotations and to send tender material to customer
  • Commercial negotiation with customers incl. price, payment terms and other terms
  • Lead  Pre Contract Phase and to hold pre contract reviews, start up meeting and distribution of available tender material to each department
  • Participate actively in the preparation and realisation of the Sales Budget of assigned customers including proposal of marketing activities
  • Participate in symposiums, conferences and exhibitions as necessary
  • Responsible for keeping an updated customer address and contact database
  • Responsible for keep ship type reference lists updated
  • Plan marketing activities in assigned areas

 

Support/Assistance

  • Participate in monthly department sales meeting and keep SAP/Sales Force Sales Tool continously updated
  • Assist Contract Manager in customer contacts and special negotiations when so required.

 

Communication between different departments/stakeholders

Support people from other divisions/business lines within MacGregor with product knowledge and customer contacts when so required.

We expect from you

Requirements:

University degree with technical background

Fluent English, both writing and speaking

Commercial negotiation with customers incl. price, payment terms and other terms

5 years relevant experience
