Manager sales and projects CSS

Purpose of the position

Plan, develop, direct, execute and monitor sales activities within a specified geography, product line, or market segment to achieve established sales targets.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key tasks:

 

  • Develop customer business and create and implement the business case for a solution by understanding customer issues and needs.
  • Gather requirements from prospects, evaluators and customers and understanding their business processes and quantify their needs, and use those inputs to develop the approach, introduce the concept and create a commercially viable business case.
  • Act as a solution specialist point of contact for business lines.
  • Promote retrofit, upgrades, life extension, modernization projects and others that naturally follows under service projects portfolio.
  • Produce service Project order specifications, tendering documents and pricing. 
  • Maintain a technical knowledge of solutions and products for the product/service that are effective and appropriate for the target audience. Follow-up competitor products and their product development
  • Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans
  • Facilitate discussions and manage negotiations with potential clients and business partner to pursue business opportunities and protect the organization's business interests.
  • Promote best practice field sales activities to all GFS Sales teams & MacGregor Branch office personnel to maximize sales potential for spare parts and services for the product / s that you are responsible for.
  • Develop, promote & monitor Service Projects sales & Project campaigns for MacGregor product portfolio and Branch Offices and GFS staff.
  • Inform through regular meetings with RAMs to give and receive feedback on the products to ensure at all times best practice field sales activities are being followed.
  • Collect market intelligence and work with the network to ensure optimum footprint and customer contact.
  • Support GFS sales team where required when negotiating MacGregor Service Agreements.
  • Accept, execute and deliver projects as assigned by your line management for the benefit of the company.
  • Understand and apply Classification society’s rules – concerning safety / integrity / preventative / predictive maintenance when executing any of the relevant key tasks.
  • Follow-up production where feasible.
  • Promote all of MacGregor’s product portfolio with services and other related functions such as the academy and direct customer product training

 

Others

  • Implement strategic plans and create and maintain business case for one or more complex product/product groups/solution.
  • Manage the activities in accordance with IMS
  • Follow the rules of the Quality System / Ensure his/her staff follow the rules of the Quality System       
  • Update ERP, drawing, document systems etc. according to our standards
  • Setting up support agreements and fulfilment
  • Maintain the status reporting on all problems identified and record all corrective actions in a timely, accurate and adequate manners for lessons learnt
  • Cooperation with Network

Requirements (competence and experience):

  • Education
    • Technical degree, strong commercial and suitable technical background
  • Experience
    • >8 year track record from relevant service business as well as relevant products
  • Innovation
    • Contribute to new product development and find commercial and technical solutions to the products / solutions managed

    • Deal with demanding business development activities.
