Commissioning & Installation Engineer

Purpose of the position

  •  Supervision, installation assistance, quality control, commissioning, testing and demonstration of company products.
  • To be part of project group initially, make sure equipment is installed properly and finally make sure product is delivered as per contract agreements

Main tasks and responsibilities

●    Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
●    Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures .
●    Site responsible for commissioning and installation of the equipment whichever is applicable.
●    Coordinate and follow up all installation/commissioning activities to ensure that final delivery is fulfilled.
●    Report back to the Contract group when a fault/design mistake occurs during commissioning/installation assistance.
●    Weekly time and status reporting.
●    Make sure that all people working for MacGregor follow stated “Environment, Health & Safety” requirements.
●    Responsible for subcontracted Installation Assistance/Commissioning etc. under direction of commissioning team leader.
●    Create and retain relations with customers.
●    Highlight problem areas and submit product improvement proposals to the commissioning team leader with a view to prevent repetition.
●    Support Purchase Responsible in the handling of claims against suppliers.
●    Participate in order Close-out meetings.
 

Position Requirements


Education: 
●    BSc degree or minimum 5 years equivalent working experiences
Experience:
●    Minimum 5 years working experience with general electrics or PLCs
Competencies:
●    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
●    Excellent computer proficiency in:
-    PC Worx /Siemens/PC Worx(PLC) Program changes/reprogramming of Items
-    ABB Drive Studio, Drive Composer (Freq. Converter)
-    Setup of network communication systems. Configuration of switches, I/O, PLC etc.
-    knowledge  of Mechanical installation and hydraulic control system
-    MS Office  (Word, Excel)
-    Google (Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Calendar etc.)

●    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
●    Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
●    Hydraulic minimum 2 years equivalent working experience
●    Flexibility to traveling 
●    Ship building technologies/knowledge
●    Teamwork
