Account Manager

Compensation Data
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000/year (Eligible for quarterly sales bonus)
Purpose of the position
As an Account Manager Fishery & Research, you are part of and leading the sales team within the FAR business unit in the GSD Division
The role has the responsibility for sales activities for FAR related retrofits, upgrades and modifications towards customers worldwide as well as spare parts sales.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- In this position there is required interaction with internal and external customers globally as well as locally.
- Building a good customer relationship and understanding our customer's needs.
- Travelling within a multi-state territory to visit current and potential clients. Conduct calls, emails, and face to face meetings with customers as frequently as needed.
- Build good customer relationships, together with other department Managers when needed, and understand our customer's needs. Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally.
- Compile, and create sales bids. Follow up on all sales leads and bids, report findings to management.
- Ensure sales processes are performed according to MacGregor/GSD/FAR Operating System.
- Monitor the company's industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand customer's specific needs. Including attending industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing customers.
- Assist management in collecting outstanding debt as necessary.
- Create winning sales strategy for own department, share and implement together with local management team as well as creating yearly sales budgets and targets
- Lead and/or assist in negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
- Ensure a high performing and efficient Sales department by setting targets for the sales team and each individual team member. Measure progress and give feedback to employees about their performance.
- Manage own employees regarding but not limited to plan activities ongoing to reach agreed objectives in an efficient way as well as safeguarding employees job satisfaction and well being.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
- Preferably Bachelor degree in Engineering, or similar.
- Extensive relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant business/product experience
- Detailed knowledge of relevant MacGregor products
- High technical and operational understanding of relevant products
Competencies:
- Fluent English, oral and written
- Negotiation skills

- Able to establish good relations internally and externally
Key Stakeholders
- Internal Local Management team, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, test & commissioning finance and administration
External:
- Customer Contact Points, ship-owners, ship consultants, yards, classification authorities and suppliers
Other information:
- Responsibility to comply with Cargotec policies and Code of Conduct, MacGregor QEHS Statement, and instructions and requirements as found in the Integrated Management System
