Sales Manager

Purpose of the position

  • Active participation in market research & development, development of new solutions, promotion and sales of existing solutions worldwide for Offshore Energy Solutions product portfolio.
  • Highly motivated and business oriented contribution to support MacGregor’s growth and innovation strategy within OES market globally

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Fulfilment of individual yearly sales targets that contribute to the overall BU budget
  • Ensuring sales closing with the highest possible margin
  • Active promotion of MacGregor brand internally and externally
  • Conducting research of the competition environment including market price level. 
  • Sustain and develop strong long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Tender manager for tender teams and ensure high standards during all phases of a tender.
  • Ensure no GM drop during contract handover excluding FX.
  • Identify leads and develop sales action plan
  • Perform market-related activities such as participation at conferences, exhibitions etc.
  • Risk Management of tenders and contracts
  • Ensure sales process are performed according to MacGregor’s execution model
  • Ensuring understanding of market structure and business hierarchy, meaning how MvG needs to organise business models locally to be successful. 
  • Keeping up to date with market information and future demand
  • Negotiate and closing sales, including contract terms
  • Travel activity to existing and potential clients
  • Other duties assigned by your leader
  • Liaise with key stakeholders internally and externally

What you’ll need to succeed


  • BS/MS degree in business administration, marketing, or engineering
  • Relevant experience can compensate for formal education


  • At least five years of successful previous experience in sales with a record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • In depth knowledge of Offshore Wind market and available network within the industry’s players 
  • Knowledge and experience in participating at key industry events, seminars and exhibitions


  • Proactive within the internal and external environment
  • Flexible to changes 
  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • Good understanding of the market and it’s trends
  • Strong commercial drive 
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Understanding of offshore installation operations.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical
  • Multicultural working experience and understanding of global cultural differences
  • Motivated and self-driven achiever comfortable to work autonomously and as a part of a team
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process
  • Outstanding communications skills and ability to convince at all levels
  • Cooperative
  • Creating and implementing sales plans
  • Experience in developing budgets and analysing data
