R&D Control System Engineer

We are currently looking for out new R&D Control System Engineer. 

Location of the position is Arendal, Norway and you will be reporting directly to Director Technology and R&D. 

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Execute and report on tasks within Technology and R&D
  • Propose R&D projects or tasks for control system and software developments
  • Be accountable of R&D tasks within control system or software development as defined by leader
  • Execute according to established best practices and methods defined by R&D control system lead in Technology and R&D
  • Contribute to governmental funding applications and projects
  • Participate in internal and external fora’s, conferences and client arrangements
  • Ensure that MacGregor Code of Conduct is introduced and implemented in own organization
  • Ensure that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), the local QEHS System and QEHS rules and requirements
What you’ll need to succeed:

Ideally you have: 

  • Master degree or Phd within Control System or Software Engineering
  • Preferable some experience with innovation and R&D work
  • Knowledge of applied mathematics, especially 3D geometry and vector/matrix algebra e.g. Linear algebra and Calculus
  • Object oriented programming knowledge e.g. C++ and Python
  • Knowledge of numerical methods for Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs)
  • Matlab/Simulink development, especially Simulink coder tools for automatic deployment to specific targets such as PLCs
  • Real-time control system development, especially for multi-axis control such as industrial robots
  • Advanced control theory for MIMO (Multiple-InputMultiple-Output) control systems e.g. state feedback
  • Inverse and forward kinematics for 6 degree-of-freedom (DOF) robots e.g. industrial robots and closed kinematic chains
  • Sensor fusion using Kalman filters and multiple sensors such as cameras, LIDAR, laser and MRUs
