Are you the new key player in MacGregor’s Offshore business line? Do you want to realise your potential and become an important member of our global finance team? The Business Controller in MacGregor Offshore holds a key role supporting the Finance Business Partner in the Offshore Business Line.

This position is located in Kristiansand, other MacGregor locations such as Arendal and Bergen can be considered.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

As our new Business Controller you will provide critical and relevant financial information for decision-making; covering historical, current and future performance. The Business Controller drives improvements in reporting and measurement to support operational excellence and business results, provides support and direction to the Offshore business line management team.


You will work in close collaboration with the Offshore Finance Business Partner and support the management with financial information, analysis, and use the information to support the planning, performance management, decision making and controlling processes. Challenge the business and financial performance. Work in close collaboration with the MacGregor Financial shared services centre. Participation and contribution in common business control objectives within MacGregor along with ad hoc finance related tasks upon request.


Other responsibilities:

 

  • Financial reporting is a part of the role in the month-end closing, and rolling plans need to be followed, KPIs designed, distributed and followed-up for impact analysis. We also work with Hoshin Kanri methodology and you will be instrumental in this. 
  • There is a global aspect to the role with stakeholders across the northern hemisphere east-to-west, so bring your ‘a-game’ when it comes to impacting across different cultures. 
  • The Business Line runs small to larger sized tailored customer projects, so in addition to financial controlling you are expected to have a fairly good understanding of project controlling, planning and execution. 
  • We expect you to succeed and reach your full potential, and to be the one that can take on complex projects, analysis and tasks on an ad-hoc and proactive basis. 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • University degree (MSc / BSc), Economics, Business & Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a global organisation
  • Beneficial if you are familiar with SAP, Qlik Sense, Excel, Hyperion and Google Workspace
  • Collaborative, but with the ability to professionally argue various angles and risks in the project
  • Proactive and able to see where the role can make the most influence
  • Responsive with a sense of urgency to ensure on time delivery as well as the willingness and ability to change the mindset and drive changes when necessary
  • Excellent in both written and spoken English, Norwegian is beneficial
