We are looking for a Service Engineer for MacGregor Global Lifecycle Support to provide services to our customers, for their ships & fleets cargo access equipment, like Hatch covers, Roro equipment’s(ramps, doors,car decks, visors, cargo elevators, etc.) and Cargo Cranes among other MacGregor or third party manufactured equipment.


The position is based in Klaipėda, Lithuania, but in addition to works at local shipyards and ports,your work may sometimes require travelling mainly in different ports at Baltic’s, or with the client’s vessels to various Europe countries. Services may take place also during the nighttime, weekend sand public holidays.


As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for performing and supervising service activities such as refurbishment, upgrades, preventive maintenance and corrective actions on MacGregor and equivalent equipment. In this role you will be reporting to the Service Manager and your key accountabilities will include inspecting, troubleshooting, reporting, planning and conducting service or repair as necessary either alone or by leading a team and to ensure adequate records and documentation are maintained in line with agreed standards.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

To succeed in this role you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or/and some years’ experience on ships & their marine equipment, either by having experience as a marine engineer or having an experience from a marine repair company. In addition to good mechanical engineering skills, you should have practical understanding on hydraulics. Competencies in electrics will be strongly beneficial.


A successful candidate will share our values – integrity, quality and safety – and feels natural acting by them in everyday work to ensure best practices are applied in all service related activities. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate fluently both in Lithuanian & English (Russian skills beneficial) are essential as in this
position you will also be responsible for maintaining productive team and customer relationships.You also need to express yourself clearly in writing, being requirement for reporting.
