Technical Trainer

We are looking for a talented Technical Trainer  who will be responsible for our Hatch covers or Steering gears  related training for our global internal service personnel and external customers. 

Strong technical background on those products is critical for this position. The ideal candidate will be adept at effective communication and interaction across all levels and have a passion for helping others learn and grow. 

This position could be based in Finland or any other MacGregor GSD (Global Services Division) location in Europe.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and develop training courses and materials for the responsible product(s) by different technical levels 
  • Plan and conduct training to internal and external customers globally (classroom, online, on equipment)
  • Assist/Develop and implement modern and advanced training tools for training be more effective
  • Review and constantly improve training content, materials and methods 
  • Execute certification processes of service personnel according to internal operational manual
  • Register and maintain technical competence data of service engineers properly in the system.
  • Develop and train local frontline trainers related to responsible product lines, as needed. 
     

What you’ll need to succeed

Education 

  • Academic degree in the fields of engineering on Bachelor level or equivalent. 
     

Experience 

  • Minimum five years in shipbuilding or marine industry or relevant business/product experience 
  • Technical background or knowledge of responsible MacGregor products 
  • Experience in a technical / commercial role in service environment is preferred 
     

Competencies 

  • Тechnical skills and product knowledge
  • Understanding of technical and operational use of the marine & offshore equipment 
  • Knowledge of classification societies requirements, service process and documentation standards
  • Proficient in creating and refining training courses and materials, skilled in planning, coordinating, and conducting courses, including experience in instruction 
  • Аnalytical skills and high attention on details
  • English skills, both written and spoken
