MacGregor is looking for a highly motivated and proactive Software Developer with experience in C++/C# to join our Lashmate team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in the maritime industry and to make a difference in the field.

As a Software Developer at MacGregor, your main responsibility will be the development and maintenance of the Lashmate software. This includes programming, testing, verifying and documenting the code, as well as supporting the migration of Lashmate to a cloud service. You will also be responsible for collecting feedback and development ideas and incorporating these into the Lashmate software. You will work closely with both external stakeholders, including maritime classification societies and end customers, and internal teams to create solutions that meet our customers' needs. As a key contributor, you will use your expertise in C++/C#, Visual Studio, Google Tests in Visual Studio, and Git to drive software development and ensure that our Lashmate software is of the highest quality.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Lashmate software development and maintenance
• Programming, testing, verification and documentation of code
• Support moving Lashmate to cloud service
• Collecting feedback and development ideas from sales, -naval architect, designer and customers
• Follow-up latest classification society rules (related to lashings) and translate the requirements into software
• Assist and support customers and key stakeholders as required
• Participate in software development projects as required.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education

• M.Sc or B.Sc Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other suitable education.

Experience

• Experience in user interface development 
• Some years of software development experience is a plus but also recent graduates or students can be considered
• Any prior experience in the maritime industry or working with the classification societies is a plus but not required.

Competencies

• Experience in using C++/C#, Visual Studio, Google Tests in Visual Studio and Git
• Good mathematical skills
• Problem-solving and a can-do attitude
• Self-driven & proactive mindset
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• Understanding of Agile development practices and AzureDevOps
• Sharing knowledge among the relevant stakeholders within the organisation.
