This role is part of our Strategy & Business Development Function. Reporting directly to the Director, Sustainability. This position is based in Helsinki or Kaarina, Finland or Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Own and manage MacGregor’s sustainability processes, governance, and due diligence
• Drive mapping, monitoring, and assessment of global, local, and industrial sustainability regulations
• Identify and address compliance gaps with divisions, legal, HR, EHS, E&C, and local sites
• Assure the compliance of the internal & external sustainability reporting
• Lead development of sustainability policies, guidelines (e.g., UNGC/SDGs, CSRD/ESRS, Taxonomy), and support impact assessment (DMA) with stakeholders
• Oversee sustainability improvement activities, including self-assessment and external scoring (e.g., ECOVadis)
• Support sustainability compliance training and track industry developments (e.g., key customers, suppliers, competitors)

What you’ll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability, legal, EHS, business, or related field
• 5+ years of corporate-level sustainability experience, especially in ESG governance, assurance/audit, and development, preferably in industrial manufacturing
• Expertise in standards (e.g., ESRS, SASB, ISSB, EU Taxonomy), global process implementation, and continuous compliance improvement
• Leadership experience in a matrix organization, ability to coach, and influence teams and stakeholders, building trust in diverse and global environments
• Project management skills, self-driven, and results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to collaborate, work independently, and build networks across functions and cultures, with a focus on learning and adaptability
• English language - both verbal and written
