Lead Software Developer IoT & Edge, Digital Solutions

MacGregor’s is looking for a Lead Software Developer IoT & Edge to join our team of professionals. The mission of this role is to support us with your expertise working on the IoT and Edge related code infrastructure. You will be the one responsible to translate ideas into actual code, ensuring secure and reliable connections and dealing with all the challenges that arise from the fact that vessels are moving around the whole world. 
 
The position could be based in Germany, Sweden, Finland and Netherlands.
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team members to develop a new edge solution for our OnWatch Scout Condition Monitoring system and keep developing the whole IoT infrastructure further
• As the technical lead developer, you will implement the agreed solutions into actionable code with an agile approach, maintain it and keep constantly developing it further
• With the support of our developer network, set up an automated CI/CD pipeline for the IoT related software part 
• Support our back-end & front-end developers with code commits and enhance your knowledge on this realms of software
• Cooperate with colleagues from all divisions within MacGregor, as well as customers and external stakeholders to build valuable and innovative solutions

What you’ll need to succeed

• Preferably 4+ years of experience developing software for IoT systems, including edge or embedded systems and proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (e.g. C++/QT, Python or equivalent) 
• Competence using Docker or other containerization solutions or willingness to quickly learn everything necessary to make operation with it a daily routine
• Fluently working in agile development processes and with CI/CD techniques or willingness to adapt to it quickly 
• Good communication skills and proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
