Technical Support Engineer

Purpose of the position

 

Technical Support Spare Engineer is responsible for handling internal and external technical inquiries that may arise for equipment delivered by MacGregor. Main job task will be supporting of internal technical inquiries related to spare parts offered to MacGregor’s clients. 

This position will have close connection with other technical support engineers, spare parts quotation handlers and sourcing specialists and service engineers. A close cooperation with GSC (Global , Service Center) is essential.

Collaboration with other regions and functions is required.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Technical support

  • Support our service organisation and customers with:
  • Technical information. 
  • Technical advices
  • Digital services and solutions
  • Technical service travel
  • Special technical surveys.

 

Spares support

  • Support spare sales in identifying and recommending spares.

 

Technical Documentation Support

  • Support Technical documentation team in creating technical instructions.
  • Arrange technical information from Suppliers

 

Modernisations

  • Support development/installation of modernisation products.
     

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

  • Technical background, Bachelor degree (preferably electrical or electrical control systems)

 

Experience

  • At least five years in marine lifting equipment field

 

Competencies

  •  Professional skills and can work independently.
  •  Very good English, written and spoken is an obligatory.
  • Expert Electric/Electronic, Good Hydraulic and Mechanical technical knowledge.
  • Experience from service jobs and commissioning. 
  • Good team working, reporting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to keep deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an international business environment and in a matrix organization.

 

Other information

  • Knowledge of MacGregor cargo cranes is a benefit.
  • Experience with VFD systems - SINAMICS is a benefit.
