Classification Engineer

MacGregor is looking to hire a motivated and results-oriented candidate to join our team. In this role you will be serving as a primary contact for class societies on design-related matters while efficiently distributing classification reports to ensure smooth communication and compliance.

MacGregor is a leading provider of integrated cargo and load handling solutions for the maritime industry. Our equipment is installed on more than half of vessels worldwide, enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability for shipowners and operators. We pride ourselves on delivering world-class support to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and are seeking a Classification Engineer who shares our commitment to exceptional service.

This role is part of our Equipment and Solutions Division. Reporting directly to the Structural Analyst & LMS Lead Engineer. This position is based in Gdansk, Poland. 

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and understand rules from relevant classification societies
• Communicate and collaborate with classification societies on technical issues
• Maintain and manage ongoing classification issues
• Compile classification reports for plan approval submission
• Contribute to the development of new crane designs
• Continuously improve classification report content
• Stay updated on changes and new releases of classification rules and regulations

What you’ll need to succeed

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent education, or extensive experience in a relevant field
• Preferably 2 years of relevant business or product experience 
• English language - both verbal and written
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and continuous drive for personal skill development
• Flexible and adaptable in fast-paced environments
