Software Designer

Purpose of the position

As we are now facing an increasing interest for our legacy product portfolio, as well as building a leading position as a provider of offshore renewables solutions. 


 

Key tasks:

  • Designing control systems for maritime/offshore industry

  • Programming PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs

  • Preparing documentation

  • Testing and commissioning

  • Technical support

  • Cooperating with other disciplines

  • Travelling will be required (up to 30% of time)

 

For the right candidates we look for one of the below:

  • Advanced MIMO control systems & predictive control

  • Front end JS HTML5 development

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • University degree in a field of Automation / Mechatronics / Electrical / Robotics. In the case of JS and HTML front end development previously done work can be used as an education substitute

  • Fluent written and verbal communication in English (C1/B2)

  • Experience with Siemens S7 PLCs, TIA Portal is an advantage

  • Knowledge of MIMO systems, MPC and subspace estimation is an advantage

  • Knowledge of several programming languages is advantage (JS,CSS,SCL,FBD,C,C++)

  • Knowledge of simulation tools and HIL testing (20Sim, Simulink, MATLAB)

  • Ability to read and understand electrical documentation

  • Ability to read and understand hydraulics documentation

  • Experience with E3 is an advantage

  • Experience with AutoCAD is an advantage

  • Knowledge about rules and guidelines for maritime/offshore industry (LR, DNV, ABS, BV) is an advantage

  • Knowledge about frequency inverters is an advantage

  • Analytical thinking and strong ability to successfully resolve complex problems and issues

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about working with people, good team-player

  • Independent self-driven, flexible and open-minded

  • Creativity and ability to build trust with colleagues and clients

  • Openness to share and implement new ideas

  • Excellent internal and external communications skills

  • Willingness to continuous improvement
