We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Service Technician to join our dedicated team in the Global Service Division (GSD) at Averøya. Our Service Technicians are responsible for conducting service, repair, and maintenance tasks on fishing and research vessels, either onboard or in our workshop. This work covers a wide range of MacGregor products, as well as third-party equipment when necessary.
As a Service Technician you will ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, accurately, in a friendly manner and supporting management and the rest of the organisation in necessary areas. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the achievement of overall service goals and budgets.
Our ideal candidate is either an experienced service technician with a background in electrical or automation engineering, or a promising mechanical professional in the early stages of their career who has a strong interest in or the ability to learn about automation and electrical systems.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Professionally supervise and/or perform service activities (refurbishment, upgrades, inspections and preventative maintenance) on MacGregor and equivalent equipment
- Establish and maintain good relationships with both internal and external customers
- Comply with all relevant health, safety, environment and quality (QHSE) requirements
- Recognize service and spares sales opportunities and communicate that to the relevant persons
- Awareness of the profitability in the department
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Technical education/college level or similar relevant experience
- Competencies or educated within Automation/Software/Electrical engineering is an advantage
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Analytical mindset
- Proactive
- A can do attitude and eager to learn
- Flexible and willingness to travel
- English and Norwegian language and communication skills
