We are looking for a Project Assistant to process and control all service project activities in accordance with project execution guidelines in cooperation with the Service Project team.

This position requires the ability to travel locally and  internationally.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Maintenance of all projects within SAP in accordance with Operating Principal Manual (OPM), Integrated Management System (IMS) and project execution guidelines
  • Sourcing and Purchasing of relevant materials to satisfy individual project requirements
  • Coordinate company Logistics activities for Projects to ensure cost efficiency
  • Assist project department with cost calculations and obtaining offers from external vendors
  • Manage internal parties as applicable and be single point of contact
  • Monitor project progress KPI’s and take appropriate actions to ensure successful completion
  • Negotiate and close agreements with external vendors for parts deliveries and logistic service 
  • Maintain good working relationships within the Service Project Team 
  • Report on all problems identified and record all corrective actions in a timely, accurate and adequate manner for lessons learnt
  • Perform any ad-hoc activities as required
  • Adopt and promote MacGregor Core Behaviours
  • Manage activities in accordance with IMS
  • Adhere to the requirements of the Quality System
  • Actively promote a safe working culture
  • Build internal relationships with other departments and teams by maintaining open and honest communications.
     

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education and Experience : 

 

  • Degree / HND / HNC  (Technical / Business) or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP Project Module
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferable
  • Knowledge of Marine, Offshore or Merchant Shipping industries preferable.

 

Competencies : 

 

  • Sourcing and Purchasing experience
  • Understanding of Incoterms
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings and bill of materials
  • Understanding of relevant classification and regulatory requirements preferable
  • Use of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive etc.)
