Project Manager

Purpose of the position

 

The Project Manager is responsible for execution of service projects in GSD. The role will cover the overall coordination of the service project delivery and manage the supported needs by the help of GSD Technical Support, Global Sourcing, New Build engineering resources (or external design resources if needed) or others when needed.
This position will in addition cover service projects tendering and sales support.
In addition active participation in other service project initiatives may be required.

 

Key tasks:

 

  • Oversee and manage service project activities according to internal guidelines.
  • Strive to keep GM% within set range and healthy cash flow through the projects
  • Manage and lead allocated project team
  • Manage external parties as applicable and be single point of contact
  • Monitor project progress KPI’s, make adjustments as required to ensure successful completion
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule and cost
  • Prepare regular progress- and financial reports and escalate to management according to reporting structure
  • Ensure customer meets the obligations as set out in the contract payment terms and conditions in conjunction with Finance/Legal dept.
  • Participate and/or coordinate sales/tendering work when needed
  • Host customers visiting our premises
  • Occasional visits to customers, suppliers or other external parties
  • Continuous risk management according to risk management system
  • Handover to maintenance group when needed
  • Assist in claim handling when needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement of processes and culture.

What you’ll need to succeed:

 

Education

  • University (degree)

 

Experience

  • minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • experience of maritime industry

 

Competencies

  • Technical knowledge is essential

  • Responsibility for conforming to the Cargotec Code of Conduct,  QEHS Policies of MacGregor as well as requirements of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001.
