Production Supervisor

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Kalmar Mobile Solutions is beginning a program to transform their supply chain process.  To support this project, individuals will be shifting to the World Class Supply Chain (WCSC) project resulting in an opportunity for a Production Supervisor. The primary focus for this role will be to supervise a production floor department with responsibilities related to production and material handling of equipment manufactured in the MAU. This position is on the front line between company management and bargaining unit employees and must ensure that the overall operational objectives are achieved in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The estimated time period for this temporary position is 6-9 months.

<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Lead assigned personnel to achieve production schedule
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Ensure work is being conducted in a safe manner
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Maintain compliance to all company policies and procedures
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Coach/mentor assigned personnel in lean principles
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Perform daily assignments guided by SQDC principals
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Meet all SQDC goals
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Focus on proactive activities to eliminate or reduce potential of accidents and or injuries
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Maintain required documentation pertaining to safety requirements
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Safety subject matter expert in area of responsibility
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Responsible to drive process
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Drive quality initiatives
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Provide support for the team leaders and members meetings
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Address challenges to the work environment / production schedule
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Drive departmental approach to elimination of waste and reduce operation expenses
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Support two-way communications as a resource to team leaders and members
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Assist the group to make decisions via consensus
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Learn and understand the Union Contract

<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">What you’ll need to succeed:

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Education:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum of 4-year BS degree in Production Management, Business or related technical field

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum of 3-5+ years of relevant production and supervisory experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Able to work with minimum or no supervision
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Willing to work overtime including weekend depending on nature of work

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Competencies:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Skills –<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Organizational and manpower planning
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge –<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Electrical systems, mechanical systems, budgeting, ability to read Bill of materials, blue prints, ability to use ERP & Sovelia, ISO9001 & 14001, EHS management, and MS office
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experiences –<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Supervision of Assembly/Production groups, preferably in a Union environment
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Competencies –<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Leadership skills, Coaching/Mentoring/Motivating personnel
