Kalmar’s Terminal Services division is looking for a Service Technician to join the team. In this role you will maintain and service heavy-duty equipment: counter-balanced rubber equipment such as fork-lift truck, reach stacker, log stacker, terminal tractor. The equipment is a combination of mechanical, electrics, hydraulics (pneumatics) and often controlled via programmable logic (can-bus or similar).


This position will report to the Service Manager and you will work closely with the local workshop customers or mobile technician on territory defined and the local FLU and Product Support. It includes frequent travel with a mobile van to customer’s locations.

Main tasks and responsibilities:


  • Services (maintain and repair) various material handling equipment at customer interface
  • Communicate with customer representatives about the issues in hand or guided by superior to be able to confirm the needs for lwork and recommend possible additional customer needs
  • Secure sufficient material and spares to be able to accomplish the work planned
  • Maintain safety culture at all times and ensure that tools, other equipment, personal protection equipment (PPE) are in a proper and safe condition  
  • Complete reporting without delay once the task is finished and inform all concern about findings and needs found (leads)
  • Plan activities together with supervisor ahead and provide ideas and give input to Service development
  • Ensure that training needs are covered to be able to fulfil tasks.
What you’ll need to succeed:


We are looking for customer service oriented person with analytical capabilities who is able to operate with heavy-duty equipment.


Ideally, you have:


  • Minimum of 2-4 years relevant working experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy-duty equipment or similar environment
  • Education in Auto-Technician or similar vocational school (minimum)
  • Ability to read hydraulic (pneumatic) and electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Flexibility
  • Own-initiative
  • Welding skills.
