System Safety Engineer, Automation

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 

 

 

The purpose of the position is to ensure the safety of the automation systems in product development and customer projects.

The person in this role has system safety engineering responsibility of the automation platform in the product development and customer projects. He/she is a hand-on project engineer who enjoys collaborating with skilled people and working with systems consisting of software, hardware and equipment.

This person in this role is eager for growth, in order to take full responsibility for the safety of the automation platform and automation projects in Kalmar Mobile Solutions. 


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

 

  • Planning and execution of system safety engineering for automation projects
    • Automation system software and hardware
    • Onboard autonomy system software and hardware
    • Safe infrastructure and access control systems
    • Automation ready equipment
  • Identify and understand the relevant safety standards and regulations
  • Challenge the existing and emerging safety practises and identify smarter ways to embed safety in the state of the art robotised equipment and automation systems
  • Lead engineer for automation infrastructure safety and access control systems
  • Safety support for customer delivery and pilots


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Excellent problem solving
  • Professional in documentation
  • Good in collaboration
  • Capability to challenge technology status quo and identify smarter ways of working
  • Project management experience is considered as a plus
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Design for safety experience
  • Capability to understand relevant safety regulations
  • Earlier experience on automation project systems engineering or safety engineering is considered as a plus
