Kalmar Services Global Logistics team is looking for 2 Logistics Summer trainees to strengthen our team during the summer. Our summer trainees will be supporting and substituting logistics team members in daily logistics operations and provide customer service to our global customers. The logistics trainees will work in very close contact with central warehouses, multiple international logistics service providers, frontlines in the region as well as other supply chain teams.

The position will be based in Tampere. The summer job will be from May to August, but ideally you could start part time already earlier, getting to know our business. 


Main tasks and responsibilities:


  • Supporting 3PL in organizing deliveries from Kalmar Central warehouses
  • Supporting our customers with different transportation related enquiries
  • Preparing transportation documents
  • Handling also direct deliveries from suppliers, customer claims and returns
  • Creating transportation bookings
  • Handling freight invoices
  • Supporting suppliers and transportation partners with inbound logistics 
  • Active communication with our warehouse and logistics service partners 
  • Following up on open deliveries and deliveries in transit to ensure excellent on-time-delivery performance and customer service levels
  • Looking for areas of improvement and solving problems for our customers


What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Studies in Logistics, International business or similar (B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
  • Preferably you already have previous working experience in global logistics and have gained basic understanding of import and export processes.
  • You feel comfortable adopting multiple IT tools. Previous experience with SAP and/or OTM is considered an advantage
  • Good data analytics skills are considered a bonus
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues in tight schedules
  • You have a positive can-do attitude and a customer-service mindset
  • Your working style is proactive, independent and flexible 
  • Your communication style is friendly and fluent. Good English language skills are a must
  • Most important is that you are a team player, who is always willing to learn and help the team and our customers succeed
