Senior Test Automation Engineer

We are now looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join us in Tampere.  You will be a senior member of our team developing digital software products for our customers and building system testing capabilities for various projects including AWS-based IoT cloud platform. You appreciate working in an international, cross-functional setup and engaging with various teams working with frontend and backend software solutions.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

As a software test engineering expert, you thrive in using modern DevOps tools and practices to produce quality software solutions. You aim to understand the system being tested by studying the architecture and learning the related cutting-edge technologies. You are able to communicate effectively when analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving issues together with developers. You master different aspects of system testing, from crafting test cases to integrating system testing to automated build pipelines.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • Several years of professional experience in designing and developing system tests
  • Strong working knowledge in Python programming language and preferably experience with other programming languages, such as Java and JavaScript
  • Proven track record of programming elegant and fit-for-purpose system testing solutions
  • Experience with tools, frameworks, and technologies related to designing and implementing system tests, such as Robot Framework, Browser Library, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines and Docker
  • Natural drive for continuous learning
  • Proficiency with agile and lean software development methods
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills allowing collaboration with stakeholders from various backgrounds
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
  • M.Sc (Eng.) or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
