The purpose of the position is to build a strong interdependent safety culture in Horizontal Transportation Division with the constant aim to develop, implement and continuously improve Safety related processes, instructions and way of working according to Kalmar global guidelines and projects lessons learnt.


The selected candidate will act as a Safety contact person between Final Assembly Sites (FAS), production and engineering.

 

The position is located in Tampere, Finland and reports directly to Director, Quality.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Develop FAS/commissioning processes and work methods in collaboration with FAS Teams to improve Safety, Quality and productivity
  • Ensure effective implementation of Kalmar Global Safety guidance, tools and method. Maintain FAS Baseline Safety documentation and train HT personnel accordingly.
  • Ensure that safety activities are completed in a timely manner and in high quality according to the Project Milestones checklist
  • Support FAS Teams to ensure effective implementation of planned  Safety measures in every project
  • Share projects’ lessons learnt with all FAS Teams (Safety alerts, risks, best practices, etc).

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

  • Bachelor/Master degree of Engineering (or equivalent).
     

Experience

  • Experience in (mechanical/electrical) assemblies and quality control activities
  • Experience in using basic safety tools such as risk assessments and control plans.
     

Competencies

  • Skills – Good verbal and written skills in English (other languages beneficial), Good communication skills including educational / interactional skills, Good skills in using basic office softwares
  • Knowledge – Good understanding of machinery and/or civil engineering and electrical safety, good understanding of basic Safety Management and Lean tools and processes.
