Kalmar has announced in December 2021 the introduction of the Kalmar Robotic Portfolio (https://www.kalmarglobal.com/automation/robotics/) – a future range of intelligent, flexible and autonomous mobile equipment solutions designed to improve safety and eco-efficiency without compromising productivity. Kalmar Mobile Solutions is looking for a Product Engineer, Robotics & Automation.

The purpose of this job is to ensure that our robotics and automation technology meets customer expectations.

Product engineer works in the Technology function of Kalmar Mobile Solutions.
His/her role is to specify and document robotics and automation requirement definitions and detailed specifications for the robotics and automation R&D projects, to ensure clear targets for development and test plans coverage.
Work also includes safety requirement specifications and quality assurance verification support to ensure targets are met.


Main tasks and responsibilities


  • Understand customer needs for robotics and automation systems
  •  Contribute in defining and selecting of technologies for robotics and automation systems
  •  Prepare and update system requirements and functional descriptions
  • Prepare product description documentation and support business divisions documentation in area of robotics and automation
  •  Understand and give support in safety requirements
  •  Understand and give support in quality assurance.


What you'll need to succeed




  • Master of Science in Technology in a relevant field.




  •  Experience from heavy duty machines development
  •  Experience from robotics and automation systems
  •  Experience in product requirements planning, management and documentation
  •  Experience in system descriptions documentation
  •  Knowledge and understanding of safety standards and analyses
  •  Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance process and creation of the test cases is seen as benefit
  •  Experience of safety requirements management and documentation is also benefit.




  •  Knowledge and understanding on the automated systems (HW+SW)
  •  Knowledge of systems engineering
  •  Teamwork and collaboration skills
  •  Product and requirements documentation, technical writing skills
  •  Systems testing and quality assurance process knowledge
  •  Safety standards knowledge in the area of robotics and automation.
