Master Data Engineer

The global Master Data Management team in Kalmar Mobile Solutions Services is looking for new talent for a Master Data Engineer. You will be responsible for securing Item and Installed Base data quality in Kalmar Services, by identifying areas of development both internally as well as according to stakeholder needs, driving those forwards and importantly taking hands-on corrective actions yourself.

 

As a Master Data Engineer, in collaboration with your manager and team,  you will drive and contribute in the development and maintenance of master data related systems and processes based on business requirements. By doing this you are making sure necessary and valuable data is there to best support Kalmar’s service business operations worldwide.

The position is full time and your optimal location would be Tampere/Helsinki, Finland. However, we will consider every major Kalmar location globally.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Identify and drive internal master data related development needs
  • Identify and analyse business requirements and, depending on the requirement, translate those to technical specifications, solutions or processes within master data management scope
  • Cooperate with internal stakeholders to understand what data is important and provides the most value for the Kalmar Service business
  • Together with your colleagues turn business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
  • Be a valuable team member defining and specifying key objectives and roadmaps in the Services Master Data Management area
  • While driving new developments and enrichments ensure that all Kalmar or Cargotec wide agreed master data policies are followed and taken into account
  • While driving different development projects, take care of hands-on master data tasks, support cases and objectives.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree from relevant field (e.g. mechanical engineering, computer science/information technology/knowledge management)
  • Or equivalent work experience.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience (e.g. industrial spare parts & service business)
  • Project management and process development experience
  • Experience of ERP system(s) is a clear advantage (preferably SAP)
  • Experience of master data related tasks is seen as a benefit
  • Experience of RPA or software automation is a bonus.


Competencies:

  • Self-driven and independent
  • Business oriented thinking
  • Interest and understanding of Master and Reference Data Management
  • Understanding of heavy machinery industry and service business
  • Basic understanding of agile development methodologies
  • Strong overall IT skills and ability to interpret new systems
  • Ready to work hands-on and support colleagues with daily tasks.
