Supplier Warranty Manager

Purpose of the position

This position will manage supplier relationships related to the external failures, lead group/activities related to supplier cost allocation and engage with suppliers for warranty terms & contractual obligation.

The key purpose of this position is to ensure that Kalmar forward as much of its customer warranty claims to its suppliers as possible, to maximize the suppliers acceptance of the same claims.



  • Review supplier recovery behavior, trends, delinquencies and set up engagement strategies, reviews / audits and negotiations across the supplier commodity mix and provide input in supplier contractual processes.
  • Negotiation with suppliers for both conditions with/without a written contract with suppliers.
  • Work closely with sourcing/SD organizations for supplier quality issues.
  • Collaborate with global sourcing for warranty agreement improvement (coverage and warranty level)
  • Regular warranty claim follow up. 
  • Collaborate with product support to improve the claim handling. 
  • Better/clearer information for the claim clear responsibility internal vs external
  • Input to PLC for product improvement.
  • Administration work in supplier claim system and return of non-conformity components to supplier if needed.

What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, business or related field



  • 6+ years' experience with Warranty, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Quality or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working with suppliers, supply chain management, or quality
  • 2+ years' experience working in a large global matrixed organization
  • 1+ year of data analysis experience (MS Excel, Power Point, ERP)



  • Good knowledge in quality tools and systems
  • Strong commercial background and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Collaboration skills
  • Ability to do independent work as well as teamwork
  • Ability to travel to suppliers
  • Desire to develop and continuously enhance your own work and nearby processes
  • Great accuracy, analytical ability and well structured
  • Basic financial knowledge
  • Understanding of manufacturing process for different types of parts would be a plus
