Project Manager

Purpose of the position

Purpose of the position is to ensure effective projects realization in Kalmar plant and Kalmar in general.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Safety:

  • Obeying health and safety rules
  • Work in accordance with health and safety rules
  • Timely performance of tasks related to H&S in the department
  • Active cooperation with the H&S service

 

Leadership:

  • Promoting, implementing and following factory key behaviors
  • Building and sharing a positive vision of the department
  • Building continuous improvement culture (LEAN) and celebration of successes
  • Promote open communication with feedback sharing
  • Build Kalmar factory behavior-based culture regarding each vital aspect of the department
  • Understand and actively support Kalmar strategy implementation

 

Quality:

  • Compliance with established standards, processes, procedures and instructions
  • Providing timely and high quality of service for customers of internal processes
  • Support building standards, and development for Project Management Office

 

Delivery:

  • Support other departments in project management to ensure high quality and on time deliveries according to internal customer expectations
  • Management of priorities in cooperation with other departments

 

  • Cost:
  • Cooperate and participate in the budget work concerning managed area, supervision over realization of the budget
  • Cost efficiency responsibility in projects, and leading corrective/preventive actions
  • Support productivity improvement (waste elimination, loss time analysis, KAIZEN, VSM, layout etc.) and realization of investments

 

  • Environment
  • Following, supporting and improving the environmental related regulations and processes
  • Prevention of occurrence and environmental threats and response to failures and environmental threats
  • Active support of any environmental aspect e.g. waste elimination, energy savings, efficient energy and resources utilization
  • Promotion of correct behaviors regarding our environment

 

LEAN/PMO:

  • Lighthouse for LEAN culture promotion and implementation (LEAN mindset)
  • Develop guidelines of Project Management Office
  • Conduct trainings about Project management

 

Other:

  • Building employer branding by active participation in marketing actions and positive communication
  • Compliance with regulations and rules in Cargotec, in particular health and safety regulations and procedures and records IMS.
  • The obligation to comply with the instructions of the superior, which relate to work, if they are not contrary to law or the contract of employment
  • The obligation to perform work conscientiously and carefully

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

  • Higher education with technical or management profile

 

Professional experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial position in the production/operations department
  • Preferably 5 years of experience in managerial positions in the engineering department in a large company 
  • Experience in automotive industry

 

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
  • English B2 or higher
  • Knowledge of Lean management tools on advanced level
  • Knowledge of Project management on advanced level
  • Computer skills (Google / MS Office package)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead employees
