Field Service Engineer

Purpose of the position


Kalmar is looking for a site based Field Service Engineer in the Birmingham/Midlands area responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing Kalmar and third party equipment, whilst providing a good level of customer service, through product knowledge and customer interaction.    
Main tasks and responsibilities:
•    Undertakes servicing/repairs of Kalmar and third party equipment at our customer site in the midlands area
•    Complete all service, repair, warranty and inspection jobs allocated daily, to a high quality standard
•    Build strong rapport and relationships with customers, through professional behaviour and customer focused mindset
•    Respond to routine enquiries from customers about the technical aspects of the organization’s products and services
•    Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard technical problems that arise, ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
•    Develop skills and knowledge of the organisation’s products and service
•    Comply with all Legal and company standards, such as code of conduct and H&S practices
•    Good IT skills and familiar with reporting via updating of spreadsheets and completion of all set administration
•    Familiar with 5S working practices.

What you’ll need to succeed:


The ideal candidate would be a multi-skilled engineer with experience of heavy plant equipment or the materials handling sector, and working with hydraulic systems and electrical automotive experience Knowledge of CAN BUS systems and how to fault find essential.
Ideally you have: 
•    Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualifications
•    Engineering minimum nvq level 3
•    PLC knowledge or experience
•    Knowledge of Kalmar products.
