eMobility Engineer

The purpose of this role is to support the development of the electrification of our future generation machines. This includes the development and coordination of system design and engineering for electrification, based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to the business strategies. The role belongs to an eMobility team that works closely with suppliers to select, test and validate systems, and supports integration of the systems into Kalmar Mobile Solutions’ products.


● Lead assigned work with partners, consultants and suppliers and internal stakeholders
● Develop electrification solutions together with suppliers and internal stakeholders
● Define specification for components and systems in cooperation with internal stakeholders
● Set up a development plan for components and systems.
● Coordinate components and systems design between Kalmar Mobile Solutions product divisions and the eMobility team
● In consultation with Chief Engineer, eMobility, plan and perform activities according to specified requirements and time schedule.
● Support and ensure cooperation between Technology, R&D teams, Sourcing and Operations



● Education level needs to be a university degree corresponding to the area of responsibility or similar knowledge through experience.


● At least 3-5 years of working experience in similar role
● Sound technical knowledge in electrification of material handling equipment or similar heavy machines
● Experience of product development activities


● System level understanding and capability to design solutions
● eMobility related legislation and regulation
● Technologies: high-voltage electric solutions, batteries, battery management systems, thermal management, traction (e-motors, inverters, gears), electro-hydraulics, charging systems, vehicle control systems etc.
● Basic commercial- and business knowledge.
● Good communication skills are important.
● Should be energetic, have a good driving force and be result oriented.
● Problem solver.
● Positive attitude.
● Fluent in the local language and English both in speaking and writing.
