Maintenance Technician

Making your next move count

This position is responsible for providing maintenance, troubleshooting and repair to all brands and types of container handling equipment. Skill level requirements vary from basic hydraulic, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to component and part replacement.

Main tasks and responsibilities

•    Providing timely diagnostics/repair for the customers on site equipment
•    Conduct regularly scheduled preventative maintenance
•    Ability to use hand, air and electrical tools; operate forklifts, small cranes and mechanical hoists as needed
•    Adherence to safe work procedures at all times
•    Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction in all that we do from delivering on promises in a timely and orderly fashion

What you’ll need to succeed

•    Technical certification, preferably in mechanical/electrical or related field, highly preferred; High School diploma or GED required.
•    Preference will be given to Veterans and those with advanced technical training and/or Kalmar specific equipment experience.

•    Minimum of three (3) years' experience in heavy industrial equipment mechanical & electrical troubleshooting and equipment repairs including, Motors, Controls, PLC electronic control, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, structural and engine systems
•    Diagnostic and troubleshooting of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical equipment
•    Ability to read blueprints and schematics drawings
•    Comfortable working at elevated heights
•    Technical aptitude for heavy equipment
•    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
•    Candidates must have the ability to communicate with individuals and/or groups consisting of dealer representatives, customer-end users and other technicians or service personnel.
•    Strong work ethic, dependability and initiative
•    Valid Driver’s License Required
