Field Service Engineer / based on Chile or Panama

Bromma is looking for a Field Service Engineer based in Chile or Panama to support our operation in the Latin-America and Caribbean region. The suitable candidate's primary role will be to provide hands-on technical support for Bromma equipment. We are looking for a self-motivated and customer focused team player to join our organization. 

In this role, you will travel regularly to port cities in Latin America and the Caribbean that operate our equipment. International travel will be required most of the time. This is a great opportunity to grow in, or join for the first time, the exciting ports and terminals industry. You will be a key part of our success in keeping the international flow of cargo moving.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:
-    Commission new equipment.
-    Perform classroom and hands-on training at customer sites.
-    Communicate with customers to determine equipment problems.
-    Relay design or functional problems identified in field operations to Engineering.
-    Relay information concerning customer needs and problems to our Sales group and Product Line.
-    Install software upgrades and make needed programming changes at customer sites.
-    Handle warranty related claims.
-    Coordinate and perform field service activities and after-sales projects.
-    Maintain good communication with customers.
-    Complete required internal and external reporting.
-    Program and test electronic equipment for spare parts or warranties.
-    Perform other related after-sales duties as assigned.
-    Travel internationally.
-    Travel is estimated at 50% to 75% of the time.

What you’ll need to succeed:

The ideal candidate would have technical capabilities, good communication and social skills, and the ability to focus locally in a global environment.
 
Ideally, you would have: 
- University (Bachelor's degree) level or vocational qualification / relevant working experience
- Candidates must have a strong and diverse technical background including mechanical, electrical, programming and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in industrial, and/or large equipment will be strongly considered.
- (3-5) Years of relevant work experience.
- Fluent in English and Spanish
