Quality Supervisor

Purpose of the position

 

The Quality Assurance Supervisor utilizes lean methodologies to ensure that Kalmar Solutions, LLC products meet our assembly and product quality standards. This role will lead a team of quality assurance inspectors who perform functional tests and visual inspections on products as they move through the assembly process.  Responsible for ensuring that employees follow safety protocols and report quality metrics to the management team.  Quality assurance supervisors may also be tasked with developing new policies or procedures. This position reports to the Quality Environmental Health & Safety (QEHS) Manager.
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Meeting with senior management to discuss business goals, challenges, and propose solutions
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality products
  • Developing QA policies and procedures that align with organizational goals
  • Ensuring that employees adhere to company policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Training employees on processes that impact their job responsibilities
  • Monitoring employees’ performance to identify areas for improvement and implement improvement plan
  • Oversees Initial Sample Inspection Report process
  • Oversees Non-Conforming Product Report process
  • Follows and adheres to ISO standards
  • Apply Lean Problem Solving methodology
  • Collect, Analyze, and Report data to key stakeholders
  • Participates in daily management meetings
  • Travel may be required

Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensure quality programs meet or exceed customers' requirements and relevant regulatory agencies such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 guidelines.
  • Develop a team and ensure safety and work instructions are being followed.
  • Create, lead, and promote a positive work environment within a team.
  • Liaise with production partner management, initiate and follow up on process and production improvement initiatives    

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Quality or Engineering preferred. Minimum of High School diploma (required)  

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance
  • Experience in supervision or leadership position

 

Competencies:

 

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in part print reading and GD&T
  • Proficient in metrology and related tools (gages, calipers, operating CMM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / Quality Management System preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean problem solving
  • Proficient with Google Suite (or Microsoft Apps)
  • Average Typing speed (40 wpm and over)
