Quality Launch Engineer

Reporting to the QEHS manager, the Quality Launch Engineer will support the global launch of new products. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the quality of new product is meeting our internal quality metrics and expectations for our customers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Assist in prevention of defect (internal and vendors)
● Assist in the Kalmar New Product Development Plan
● Coordinate Repair, Rework, and Containment Activities
● Create Corrective/Preventative Action Reports and communicate lessons learned
● Develop and implement a plan for additional inspection during the new model launch.
● Develop and validate Job Element Sheets (JES) and Standard Operation Sheets (SOS)
● Develop standard work and inspection
● Ensure ANDON is implemented for all Quality operations (where applicable)
● Ensure the Completed Vehicle Inspection Standards (CVIS) are incorporated in standard work
● Ensure the Quality system is prepared for International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
● Executed 7 Diamond process
● Implement internal Quality Monitoring Processes, including Torque Monitoring, Assembly Process Monitoring, New Supplier Monitoring, Initial Sample Inspection, and Layered Audit
● Implement Workplace Organization and Visual Management
● Organize periodic system and process audits to ensure product quality
● Participate in the Management of Change Process
● Review and validate master error-proofing implementation
● Support Built-in-Quality into the end-to-end process
● Support Direct Run Loss (DRL) Initiatives
● Support Lifetime Care, Product Audit, Launch Quality Reviews
● Support the Production Trial Run (PTR) Process (defects per product)
What you’ll need to succeed
Qualifications
● Degree in Engineering
● Shainin System Red X Apprentice
● Good understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
● Experience with Catia 3D Visualizer module
● Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements
● Familiar with 7 Diamond Quality Process
● Work experience in a Lean environment
● Certified Quality Engineer
● Engineering Work Order (EWO) / Parts Release familiarity
● Advanced degree is a plus
● Supplier audit experience is a plus
Education and Training
● College degree in engineering or equivalent experience
