A Quality intern is a trainee employee who gains experience working in the quality control department at the Kalmar Ottawa, KS plant. Quality interns must analyze assembly lines and quality gates and devise test procedures to identify manufacturing deficiencies that cause quality control issues. Quality interns will coordinate with the Quality Supervisor to address manufacturing deficiencies. Quality interns must also create standard operating procedures (SOP) for tests to increase product quality and customer satisfaction.
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Analyze and troubleshoot assembly lines and quality gates
● Identify manufacturing deficiencies and devise test procedures
● Create Standard Operating Procedures for quality tests
● Coordinate with Quality Supervisor to address quality issues
What you’ll need to succeed
● Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor's program. Preferably Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electrical/Computer Engineering majors
● Grade point average of 3.0 or above
● Able to work 35 hours a week
● Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills
● Good verbal and written communication skills
● Attention to detail is important
● Must be proficient with computers
● Basic knowledge of testing software is required
● Ability to test software and question features or behavior is desirable but not required
