Project Manager

Purpose of the position

Kalmar is a pioneer in container and industrial material handling, offering the widest range of cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, distribution centers and to heavy industry.
For one of our Divisions, Terminal Tractor, a market leader in its segments, we are looking for a Project Manager. 
The position has overall responsibility for the project deliverables including project financials, scope and schedule from the project start to the delivery (handover to the Line Organization). The Project Manager will also manage and lead allocated project teams, and maintain the relationship with colleagues within the Division and more broadly within KALMAR SBU. This position reports to the Projects Director in the TT Division. 
The position will be based in in one of our main location in the USA, Ottawa. Part of the work will be executed remotely with the cross functional teams. 

Starting Salary: $85k/year

Main tasks and responsibilities

●    Lead and be responsible for executing complex and non-standard projects of new product development
●    Overall responsibility for the project deliverables including project financials, scope and schedule. 
●    Set project baseline and schedule, and ensure ownership and acceptance of responsibility from all stakeholders
●    Responsible for continuous risk management in the project
●    Responsible for managing changes and variations in the project
●    Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
●    Lead and manage project team members, who are often geographically dispersed in different time zones
●    Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
●    Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

What you’ll need to succeed

●    Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science/Economy or similar interest and experience
●    5+ years proven operational experience and results in project management of complex projects within in manufacturing environment, PMP or Prince2 certification is beneficial, but not mandatory
●    Engineering experience is beneficial, but not mandatory
●    Can-do attitude and the ability to approach challenges with enthusiasm and tenacity.
●    High level of interpersonal relationship skills
●    High level ability for cross functional team collaboration
●    Team-leading abilities
●    Drive and result oriented
●    Ability and willingness of technical understanding
●    Excellence in presentation and communication -able to make sharp summaries 
●    Passion for project management
●    Negotiation skills
●    Fluent in English.
