Project Manager

Purpose of the position

 

Kalmar is looking for a Project Manager to drive business focused project management within the Kalmar Ottawa assembly unit. The Project Manager will manage projects according to standardized project management policies, processes and methods. This role will report to the Director of Operations and will be located in Ottawa, KS.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Operational project management for internal Continuous Improvement and product development projects according to corporate project model. 
  • Ensure that the project meets the set implementation objectives regarding scope, quality, time and cost
  • Communicate to all project stake holders as planned and manage project risks
  • Report regularly to the Project Owner and MAU Ottawa Management regarding project progress, outcomes and possible deviations
  • Prepare needed project decision for Steering Group (e.g. project gate passing and/or project deviations, change requests)
  • Provide coaching to sub project managers
  • Participate in way of working and process development, such as Cargotec Project model.

What you’ll need to succeed:

 

Education:

 

  • University degree or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

 

  • Experience in project management is required
  • Experience in process and/or product development activities is preferred
  • Experiences regarding other Kalmar/Cargotec products are qualifying

 

Competencies:

 

  • High level of planning and communication skills
  • Basic commercial and business knowledge with a customer oriented mindset
  • Good organizational skills with a cross functional mindset
  • Good leadership and management capabilities
  • Energetic and result oriented problem solver with a positive attitude
  • Experience in product development activities is preferred
  • Experiences regarding other Kalmar/Cargotec products are qualifying
