Production Engineering Administrative Assistant

Kalmar Solutions, a division of Cargotec, the leading global supplier of container & load handling equipment and services, has an immediate opening for a Production Engineering Administration Assistant for our Production Assembly facility in Ottawa, KS office.  

Main tasks and responsibilties

  • Assists Project Leader with administrative and reporting aspects of multiple and concurrent projects
  • Document and video build processes, create work instructions and kanban.
  • Stationizing of the BOM.
  • Assist in the implementation and daily maintenance of capacity planning.
  • Assist in material follow up actions to ensure MRD dates are met.
  • Scans and issues controlled documents
  • Maintains project files/directory
  • Performs a variety of ad hoc administrative and clerical duties, and other duties as assigned for the Production Manager and staff.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • H. S. Diploma, G.E.D. equivalent required. 
  • Ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing support role.
  • Experience in and/or exposure to SOP processes and procedures, customer planning and/or supply planning highly desirable
  • Strong computer skills in Word and Excel, with the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets and documents
  • Highly proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook.  Knowledge of BAAN LN6, AutoCAD a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Principles and assembly process preferred
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with internal customers and internal suppliers
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Be highly organized and detailed oriented. Be able to effectively manage multiple tasks.
